You close deals, hire vendors, onboard consultants, negotiate terms—but do you really understand the contracts you’re signing? You have to speak with lawyers and explain the contract, but do not understand the potential legal risk?
You’re running operations, closing deals, managing teams. The contract? That’s often something you sign after a few quick calls—or pass to legal with a few bullet points.
But when a project derails or a dispute surfaces, that “standard” agreement becomes a minefield. And suddenly, you’re asked to explain terms you didn’t draft, or defend risks you didn’t even know you’d agreed to.
The truth is, most business leaders rely on recycled templates or external legal help that doesn’t always match the business need. The result? Contracts with vague terms, mismatched expectations, or clauses that backfire when things go wrong.
And things do go wrong.
A poorly drafted agreement can expose you to liabilities you never anticipated.
In moments like these, you’re not just firefighting. You’re risking revenue, relationships, and your company’s legal standing.
Sometimes, you could even be sued—for breach of contract, non-compliance, or wrongful termination—all because the paperwork didn’t hold up.
Which is exactly why we created this course.
Built for professionals who work with contracts every day—founders, CXOs, consultants, vendor managers—but don’t have formal legal training.
This isn’t theory. You’ll work with full-length operational agreements—consulting contracts, franchise terms, NDAs, and software development agreements—and unpack them clause by clause to understand what they really do in business scenarios.
Each module puts you in a realistic setting:
Redlining a vendor agreement. Onboarding a consultant. Discussing key terms with lawyers to align with your business goals.
You’ll learn to read like a lawyer—but think like a business owner.
Ready to take control of your agreements?
Let’s get started.
This course is designed for decision-makers who routinely deal with contracts in the course of running or growing a business. Whether you're negotiating with vendors, hiring consultants, outsourcing software, or entering distribution and franchise partnerships, this programme helps you understand the structure and purpose of your contracts, engage meaningfully with legal teams, and make informed decisions.
It is ideal for:
This is not a legal theory course. It’s a practical programme that helps you navigate contracts with clarity—so you can ask the right questions, push for commercially sound terms, and work effectively with legal teams.
By the end of this course, you will:
This course won’t just help you read contracts better—it will help you ask the right questions, understand the business impact of legal terms, and use contracts as tools to drive deals, reduce risk, and strengthen relationships.
i. What if I don’t have a background in law? Will this course still be relevant for me?
Yes. We are aware you may not be familiar with legal terms, so we cover a few foundational legal concepts right at the beginning to ensure you’re not lost later. This course is designed for executives without legal training who regularly deal with contracts in a business setting.
ii. I rely on a legal team for contracts. Why should I learn drafting myself?
Understanding contracts improves your ability to communicate with lawyers, give clearer instructions, and negotiate on your own terms. It helps you spot risks early and avoid depending entirely on external advice for every detail. This course gives you the tools to take more control without replacing your legal team.
iii. I usually work with templates. Do I really need a course like this?
Templates are common, but using them blindly can lead to costly gaps. This course helps you understand what a template does and doesn’t cover, so you can ask the right questions, spot missing terms, and give clearer input to those drafting or reviewing on your behalf.
iv. What kind of practice or assignments are included?
You’ll work on business-focused tasks like spotting potential risks in contract clauses and flagging areas that need clarity or caution. These exercises are designed to help you engage more confidently with contracts and identify when to seek further advice.
