The Making of Modern India is a first of its kind attempt to provide a well-a rounded historical account of the processes of the making of Modern India & the freedom struggle, rooted in the making of the Modern World. During her own Civil Services preparation, the author realised how these different themes of Modern India and Modern World history were scattered in different books.

This inspired her to come up with a compilation where all these themes and processes of ‘Modern’ history can be contained in a single book with brevity and simplicity of understanding of a student. Weaving in diverse themes such as colonialism & imperialism, the Industrial Revolution, the French Revolution, the world wars, Great Depression with different strands of Indian freedom struggle this compilation focuses to explore the complicated pattern of shifts & continuities of the Indian freedom struggle in a simple & lucid manner.
